Founder and President of Books Without Borders, Dr. Carolyn Diemer
was born in the beautiful mountain region of western North Carolina.
Raised by her Christian parents, Myrtle and
Hankins Sparks, she learned to love Christ at a young age. She learned to
share that love with others around her. That love grew into a burden to
reach the world behind the iron curtain with the good news about Jesus Christ.
She received a
B.S. in Education from Carson-Newman College, a M.R.E. from Southwestern Baptist
Theological Seminary, and an Ed.D. from Nova University. Carolyn has two
children and four grandchildren and resides with her husband Carl in Lynchburg,
Virginia, where she has been teaching in the School of Education at Liberty
University since 1976
